We have created many building rules and classes to serve our sport, competitors and fans. All rules will be enforced with safety as the
number one priority. Not all classes will run at all events so be sure to check the schedule for the event(s) you are entering. When calling,
please be prepared to offer the event, class, type and make of vehicle you are building. The different vehicle classes are as follows:
  • Mega Stock Mid Size Car – 113” wheel base or less. V6 Front wheel drive only.
  • Mega Stock Mini’s – Compact mini vans, compact pick ups and compact SUV’s. 4x4’s are allowed. No 2004 or newer Dodge Dakotas or Dodge
Durangos.V8 engines allowed.
  • Mega Stock 80’s and Newer Full Size Car
  • Mega Stock Full Size Truck – ½ ton only. 2x4 or 4x4 allowed.
  • Limited Weld Mid Size Car- Front wheel drive 113” wheel base or less. Rear wheel drive 109” or less.
  • Limited Weld Mini’s - Mini vans, compact trucks and compact SUV’s. 4x4’s are allowed. V8’s allowed. No 2004 or newer Dodge Dakotas or Dodge Durangos.
  • Limited Weld Full Size Car - Any factory produced automobile.
  • Limited Weld Full Size Truck –Any full size truck. 2 or 4 wheel drive. ½ ton or ¾ ton. 4-wheel drives must be disengaged. Vans and suburbans
  • allowed. No 1 Tons or larger.
1. All drivers must complete an entry form and attend the pit meeting.
2. All drivers and crew members will receive a pit ID band.
3. All vehicles will get a stick after they have passed inspection. Break your stick to indicate you are out of competition.
4. Hoods must be opened upon inspection.
5. All vehicles must be present for inspection 1 hour prior to driver’s meeting. Vehicles that do not pass inspection will be allowed to
make corrections. Corrections must be completed prior to drivers meeting. If the vehicle is not able to pass inspection, it will not
run. No refunds.
6. All drivers must wear full length pants, long sleeve shirts, an approved full-face helmet, eye protection and seat belts. 7. All drivers
will have 60 seconds to make a hit. Drivers failing to make a hit will be out of the competition and will be told to break their stick by a
flagman.
8. Intentional driver door hits are not allowed and will result in disqualification. The area between the wheels on the driver’s side of the
vehicle is considered a no hit area. If the hit is deemed by the official to be careless or intentional, you will be disqualified. Do not
use your driver’s door as a defense.
9. Hood must have a 12” x 12” minimum hole to easily extinguish engine fires.
10. One extinguishable fire allowed. The second fire will result in disqualification.
11. If your vehicle is rolled, the event will be stopped and your vehicle will be up-righted. You will be allowed to continue provided
your vehicle is safe.
12. Team driving cannot be prevented. Holding is not allowed and will result in disqualification.
13. Vehicles should be decorated in good taste. No foul words or slogans permitted.
14. All vehicles are required to have a roof sign with a visible number.
15. May have maximum of 2 batteries.
16. No alcohol allowed in pits.
17. Keep speed in the pit area at an idle.
18. Drivers less than 18 years old can compete with a signed and notarized parental consent form.
19. Judge’s decisions are final. No complaints taken once the event is over. Concerns must be made by drivers only.
20. Poor sportsmanship or misconduct by drivers or pit crew will result in vehicle disqualification and loss of prize money.
21. Prize money guaranteed but must have 5 entries per class.
22. If you do not pass inspection, you do not get your entry fee back.
23. All participants need to be inspected 1 hour prior to start of show – no exceptions.
24. Inspectors are allowed to drill frames or body.

MEGA STOCK RULES 2025

Taz built Racing promotions

1. Refer to General Rules for non-building rules. This class is very stock and intended
for low budget fun.
2. V8’s are allowed.
3. Vehicle must be left completely factory stock, except as noted below.

BODY: No welding, except safety bars and driver’s door may be welded solid. Remove trailer hitches, glass, chrome, plastic, molding, A/C coolant, antifreeze and flammable material from inside and outside of the vehicle. Dash may be left in or may be removed. Hood must have a 12” x 12” minimum hole to easily extinguish engine fires. Doors may be chained, wired or welded with 2” x 4” plates no thicker than ¼ steel in no more than 8
places per door. Only 2 of the bottom door seam chains or wire may go around frame. Driver’s door may be welded solid for safety. Hoods must be chained or wired in 4 spots. Hoods may have 2 threaded rods through the core support. Threaded rod not to exceed 1” and may have max 6x6 washers and 2 angle irons or 2 chains to hold hood down, sheet metal only. Trunk and tailgate must be chained or wired shut in 4 places or may be welded with 4 pieces max 2” x 4” x ¼”. Battery must be relocated inside of the vehicle, secured and covered. Two batteries max. Pre-bending of the trunk allowed. Body shaping allowed. You may tuck 50% of your trunk. No seadagons.

FRAME: Frame repair due to a bent frame only is allowed. May have (4) – 4x4x1/4” plates per vehicle. If larger or more plates than allowed, you will be cutting them. Must have 1” inspection hole. Must be on bend.

DRIVE TRAIN: Stock gas tank must be removed from original position. (Due to fuel injection system, the original tank may be used.) Tank must be covered and mounted securely in the rear seat area with eye bolts and ratchet straps Use properly rated lines. Gas tank bar is optional. Electronic fuel systems must have visible On/Off switch for fuel pump. Carburetors allowed. You may crossbreed/swap engines. Lower cradles allowed. May not strengthen frame. Rear ends must be factory. Slider driveshafts allowed. Transmission shifter may be modified (floor shifters allowed) and ignition may be hot wired. Exhaust headers (stacks) though the hood are allowed. Transmission coolers allowed.

CAGE: Dash bar is optional, but seat bar is mandatory for driver’s safety. Bars may be connected to each other with door bars. Bars may not extend past the firewall and may not extend rearward beyond the front most part of the wheel tubs. Bars may not tie into the floor. A rear gas tank bar is allowed.

SUSPENSION: Any tire or wheel can be used. Factory suspension only. May weld shock/strut shaft. May have a 2” strap welded from A-frame to frame or 1 bolt per side for height. Rear suspension may be chained for height. 1 chain per side. Must have a minimum of 16” to bottom of bumper. No leaf clamps allowed. No duct taping of leaf springs.

BUMPERS: Bumpers may be changed to a square tube not to exceed 3” x 6” x 3/8 or an OEM car bumper. May be seam welded, not stuffed. No more than a 3” point, ends open. Bumper may be mounted with a 6”x6”x1/4 plate or a 6”x1/4” tube to fasten to frame. May shorten to core support.

Taz Built Racing Promotions

1. Refer to general rules for non-building rules
2. You may use the following:
  • Lower cradles with a pulley protector, distributor clamps, slider drive shafts, aftermarket shifters, aftermarket axle shafts, headers, pinion brakes, any wheel and tire. Electronic fuel systems with clear ON/OFF switch.
  • Carb protector, braced rear axle, aftermarket brake and gas pedal, battery box, and transmission coolers.
  • Aftermarket/ homemade bells or tranny braces may not reinforce structure of vehicle. Rule below states how they can be used!
3. You may not have the following.
  • No distributor protectors , mid-plates, steel tail shaft housings
  • No ‘04 and newer Dakota or Durangos in Mini’s.
  • No Imperials or Imperial framed cars. No ambulances or hearses.
  • Fwd’s may not use full cradles.
BASIC:
Remove all trailer hitches and hitch mounts, glass, chrome, plastic molding, A/C coolant, antifreeze, and flammable material from inside and outside of the vehicle. Dash may be left in. Stock gas tank must be removed. Gas tank must be mounted securely in the rear seat area.

DRIVETRAIN:
Any engine or transmission may be used. Must remain in factory position. Engine must be bolted in with engine mounts. Mounts may be welded to engine cross-member, After market engine mounts allowed. May weld 4 links of 3/8” chain that may go to frame in max of 4 locations. Radi-barrels may be used, must have 1” gap to frame each side. May only connect to the top and bottom of core support using (4) 3/8” bolts. May not be connected to core support threaded rods or frame in any way. All protectors used may not interfere with the bending on the vehicle. Carb protectors cannot bolt to hood or touch cowl/firewall.
You may use 2”x2”x1/4” tube to replace transmission cross-member. Cross-member may be welded or bolted into place. May use 2”x2”x6” angle iron to mount on each end of tube. Nothing but the transmission mount may connect to transmission cross-member.
May swap rear axle, may be braced cannot strengthen vehicle.
You may run an aftermarket bell housing and transmission may be braced.
Or
You may use a trans brace that bolts to bell housing bolts and the tail shaft housing bolts. May only go over the top of the transmission, brace cannot contact cage or floor.
2003 and newer Ford, Lincoln, Mercury To mount your engine you may use a maximum of
6”x6”x12”x1/4” piece of angle iron. This angle iron cannot be welded, and must be bolted in to the top
two a-arm mounts.
You can weld steel off of these to build a pad for an engine mount to be welded to. You may not connect these mounts with each other, must remain separate.

SAFETY CAGE:

Cages are mandatory. Cages must remain inside of vehicle except for halo bar. Door bars and cross bars may connect. You may have 4 down tubes off cage to the frame. Must remain inside drivers’ compartment. Halo bar may also be connected to frame. Door bars can go no further forward then the firewall, they can go no further rearward then the most forward part of the rear wheel wells.Cage must remain 6” off the floor, dash bar must remain 6” from fire wall. You are allowed a rear gas tank bar. If you use a gas tank protector, no wider than 32” may only connect to seat bar.

BODY:
Hood must have a 12”x12” hole to easily extinguish engine fires. Hoods may be fastened down in 6 locations with wire, chains, or threaded rod 1” max. If using threading rod, you’re allowed 6”x1/4” max washers . Rwd vehicles are allowed two hood bolts to the frame at the core support. Fwd are allowed 4 hood bolts to the frame. You may replace a hood bolt location with (2) 2”x2”x6”x1/4” pieces of angle iron. Bolted together with (2) 3/8” bolts. Hood hinges do not count as hood bolt location. Max of 4” gap from frame to core support. You are allowed two windshield bars max of 3”x3/8” bars may not connect in any way. They may be welded on to the roof and cowl 6”. Your 6” ‘s starts at the windshield opening. You are allowed one rear window bar 2”x2”x1x4” tube max. It may be welded on the roof and trunk 6” max. Your 6”‘s starts at the rear window opening. Fender wells may be trimmed for clearance, each wheel well may be bolted to fender with (5) 3/8” bolts with max of 2” washers. Doors may be welded solid. If you choose not to weld doors shut, you are allowed to use chain or wire in 8 locations max. In 4 locations, you may run 7/16” chain or 3 strands of 9 wire, must be ran vertical only. From roof down around frame, may not connect to cage in any way. They must stay in-between fire wall and package tray on the inside of the car. Trunks may be welded 5” on 5” off with 2”x1/4” material. You may have (2) 1” threaded rods that may be used to bolt your trunk lid down. Rods must remain vertical, they may be welded to frame. 6”x6”x1/4” washers max may be used with threaded rod If you choose to use chain or wire, max of 3/8” chain, in a max of 8 locations, (2) may go to frame. Tailgates may be welded 5’ on 5” off, outside of body only. Tailgate may not be removed, must remain vertical. Body shaping allowed. Body mounts may be changed to 5/8” bolt’s, must remain in factory locations. You must retain a 1” gap in between frame and body, 3”x1/4” washer’s max. Body bolts may not be welded , no pinning of frame, washers may not connect. No floor plates, peddles may only bolt to tin may not tie in to frame or cage. Battery boxes, must be in the front passenger side floor board. Battery box must be secured to sheet metal only. Your battery should be secured in your battery box securely and covered with non flammable material.0

FRAME:
No plating, loading, pinning, or filling of frames. You may weld the top frame seam A-arms forward. No other seam welding allowed. Peening on the humps is allowed, 1 foot wide centered over the rear axle. No other frame shaping is allowed.Tilting or cold bending is allowed, one location per rail, single pass of weld. You may chain or wire humps together with (1) 3/8” chain or 4 strands of 9 wire, in one location. You may notch and pre-bend rear frame rails. You may shorten front frame rails to the core support, core support must remain unaltered in stock location. Spacers at the core support not to exceed 4” long. Any OEM bumper may be used, from any year car. Bumpers may be welded and loaded, no altering or adding of points to factory bumpers. Replica bumpers are allowed must follow factory dimensions, please call for clarification.
Or
You may use a 6”x6” by width of vehicle piece of material max, may be stuffed, may cap ends of bumper. Bumpers must remain flat, no homemade points allowed. Bumpers may be hard nosed to frame. Any bumper bracket or shock or 3/8”x4”x12” plate may be used to mount bumper. You may have only one shock, bracket, or plate per rail. Bumper shocks, brackets, or plate may only be 12” back from bumper. ‘03 and Newer Ford, Mercury, Lincoln cars only get 6” brackets. FWD cars must have a 1” inspection hole in bumper bracket, that allows viewing into the frame for scope. No adding of crossmembers unless specified.

SUSPENSION:
May run aftermarket steering column, may add u-joints. May swap steering boxes as long as they bolt in. Aftermarket tie-rods or braced tie rods allowed, after market ball-joints allowed, all other steering must remain OEM to car. No modification to spindles or hubs. No welding of sway bar. Must be bolted in. Front suspension may be welded or bolted. If bolting you’re allowed one ¾” bolt through upper A-arm to frame. If welding your suspension, you must use a maximum of one 3”x3”x1/4” piece of angle iron or equivalent material, on lower a- arm up to the bottom of the frame. Must be ran vertical from lower a-arm to frame. No welding of upper arm if using this method.
Or
You may use (2) 2”x4”x1/4” straps to weld down a-arm, 2 per upper A-arm. Upper A-arms may be changed as long as they bolt in, without altering mounts. Rear control arms may be homemade. Coil springs may be interchanged or doubled. You may run 1 chain per side, around rear end and up to package tray. You are allowed 6 leaf clamps per leaf pack. No flat stacks, or added leafs. No leafing of no leafed vehicles. Watts link conversions allowed as long as they bolt in on top. Lowers may be welded in, 4” max of total weld per side. Lower mounts may not strengthen vehicle. Stock shocks only, no stuffing shocks, or homemade shocks. Minimum bumper height of 16” to bottom of bumper. Max of 28” to the top of the bumper.

REPAIR:

You may use (6) 6”x6”x1/4” plates to fix bends. Plates may only be on one side of frame. Plates may not be
doubled or over lapped, may not box c-channel frames. Plates must have a 1” gap between welds minimum

LIMITED WELD FULL SIZE TRUCK RULES 2025

1/2 –3/4 ton pickup, extended, crew cabs, suburban’s are allowed. No 1 tons. Frame must remain stock and not shortened or altered in any way. No welding other than specified, No adding extra braces in frame or cross member.

HOOD: May be chained with 3/8 chain, wires, OR may be bolted in 8 separate locations. You will be allowed (2) 1” max rods welded to frame used for hood pins at core support. You may substitute rods with 2”x2”x1/4” tube. Other 6 locations up to 1” max hood pins, wires, chains, or 5” long angle iron welded to inner fender with pins welded on. Must go from sheet metal to sheet metal only. Hood washers no larger than 5” x 5” x 1/4” thick. Hood pins must be straight up and down, 1-foot max length. You may use (4) 3/8” bolts for each hole to bolt hood skins together by hood openings around stacks. 2 chains or wires may go from core support to bumper. Must have (2) window bars no larger than 3” diameter OR (2) # 9 wires in windshield opening to prevent hood from entering drivers compartment for drivers’ safety. Radiator protector allowed. 1/4” max thickness. 1” larger than Radiator hole in core support or no larger than 3” on all sides of the radiator.

DOORS:
May be welded solid. Driver door and adjacent passenger door may be plated or skinned. Plate may only go past door seams by 3” and no thicker than ¼”.

TAILGATE:
Cannot be removed and must be in upright position. Tailgate may be welded solid. You may add 6” of strap to weld box/tailgate to bumper/frame. No wider that the bumper 1/4“ max thickness. Suburban and SUV back doors use tailgate rules to secure.

BUMPERS:
Any automotive front bumper may be used. Welded or remanufactured. You may shorten front frame rails to the core support, core support must remain unaltered in stock location. Rear bumper may not have a larger than 3” point. IF you choose to make a bumper you can use a flat 6” tube max of ½” thick. Front bumper may have any bumper bracket, shock, or 3/8”x4”x12” plate may be used to mount front bumper. You may have one of the three per rail. Bumper shocks, brackets, or plate may only be welded 12” back from bumper. Rear bumper may only be welded 2” back of bumper. Bumper height to top of bumper is a minimum 22” and max 28”. No open frame rails.

SUSPENSION:
Stock leaf springs, No adding leaf’s to leaf pack. You may have (6) leaf clamps per leaf pack total. Factory leaf spring perches may be welded and bolted to keep from tearing off of frame. May add (2) 3/8 chain per axle to frame, or may have (2) 2”x2” square tube per axle to frame to maintain ride height. This tube must be ran vertical. Stock front suspension components to vehicle no cross breading. For straight axle may tube front axle in place of factory pumpkin. Front axle must have factory C and no homemade ball joint. A non-leaf spring truck or SUV with A arms may weld (4) 2”x4”x1/4” plate to weld A arms down. 2 per side. You may also add front and rear leaf springs with factory brackets. No homemade brackets. Must be a factory ½- ¾ ton leaf spring from an American made vehicle.

ENGINE/TRANSMISSIONS:
May crossbreed engines and transmissions. Older trucks frames without engine crossmember this is your allowance: You are allowed to build a crossmember out of Rule questions contact Cullen Fillipi 763 267 9922 2”x6”x1/4” tube 6” long welded or bolted in the C channel part of the frame. From there you can weld the

2”x6”x1/4” tube straight across those pieces. This crossmember must be directly above the front axle of the truck, absolutely no gussets or extra bracing from crossmember to frame. Must only contact engine/cradle at mounting bolts only. Outside of motor mount bolts, Crossmember cannot be used as a brace or support for lower engine cradle or any other part of the drive train or suspension. Do not use firewall as a brace. May have 2 chains or wires to frame to hold motor in place. May weld motor mounts in same size of factory mount. Engine must be bolted to mount with 2 bolts not welded. Transmission coolers allowed if deemed safe. Do not use rubber unbraided transmission lines. Transmissions may be chained or wired to crossmember. Block saver lower engine cradles allowed, without pulley protection. You may run an aftermarket bell-housing OR a transmission brace, not both. A transmission brace that bolts to the bell housing bolts, and the tail shaft housing bolts with material going over the top of the transmission. Brace and the bell may not be connected or pressured to cage or floor. Distributor protectors, steel tail shafts, mid-plates will not be allowed. Any driveshaft may be used. Sliders allowed. radi-barrels allowed. Must be in factory location or loop hoses.

BODY BOLTS:
Trucks may have 8 locations of chains, bolts or u-bolts to secure box to frame – cab (8) and (2) core support. Suburban and SUV’s may only use (16) total throughout cabin compartment and (2) at core support. 1” diameter max size bolts with plate size no larger than 1/4" thick and 8” square. Bolts may be bolted through top of frame like factory or may weld to outside of frame. Do not pin frame. Bolts must be ran vertical. BOX may be welded solid to cab. Roll over bar strongly recommended. If mounted in front of box, must remain 5” gap minimum away from top of cab. Must stay vertical not angled. Use (4) 1” bolts welded to outside of frame to secure rollover bar. no wider than frame on uprights. No wider than cab on top. May have kickers 2’ back from uprights to support and 1 crossbar across bottom of kickers to protect gas tank. Roll over bar cannot attach to interior cage components. Box may be bolted to cab in 4 locations 1” bolt 5’ x 5’ plates. You will be allowed 1 location of your choice to wire box side location of choice. Cannot go to or around frame (4 strands of wire max, no chains). No folding box sides over to create a wedge. May bolt fenders with (6) 3/8” bolts to bolt fenders together 2” washers max. Threads must point inward. Outside fender creasing is allowed.

CAGE MANDATORY:
Floor plates allowed 1/4” Max thickness. You Must run a bar behind seat (no further back than 10” behind seat This also is the rule for your floor plate. This includes extended cabs, crew cabs, SUVs, and suburban’s. SUVs, and suburban’s may add a floating gas tank protector off of seat bar, 24”x24”. This protector must remain 4” away from all sheet metal. No Kickers to frame. All cage components must stay above floor, behind firewall, and cannot pass through back of cab.

BATTERY/GAS TANK:
Two batteries max allowed on passenger floor, properly mounted and covered. No bungee straps. Gas tank must be removed and relocated in front of box. May use electric fuel pumps if well labeled. (Fuel Shut Off)

FRAME:
Seam welding allowed. ¼” max width on bead. (One pass). You may use no more than (10) 6” x 6” x ¼” plates per truck. All need 1” gap between welds. No overlapping or doubling of plates. Two can be used on fresh trucks. All the rest are fix it plates

MISCELLANEOUS:
Stock steering components may be altered from steering box to steering wheel. Tie rods may be reinforced in center. Shifter may be altered. Ignition and starter wires may be altered. This is a budget build class. If rules don’t say you can do it, don’t assume you can. Must remain stock other than stated in rules.

For and in consideration of the right and privilege of entering, participating, displaying and otherwise engaging in 2025 Taz built racing promotions, county fair, landowner

and/or facilities operation group demolition derby. The driver being of full lawful age and/or having full authority for and behalf of the company or corporation and/or parent

or guardian mentioned hereafter, does release forever discharge and agrees to hold harmless Taz built racing Promotions, respective county fair, landowner and/or facilities

operation group, its sponsors, agents, employees, heirs, successors, and assigns from all claims, actions, causes of action and demands by reason of any damage, theft or less

injury, suffering or death sustained by driver or other persons in consequence of or in relation to driver’s participation in said Taz built racing Promotions, respective county

fair, landowner and/or facilities operation group demolition derby.
